Psalms 40:6-8

6 ^aIn sacrifice and offering you have not delighted,

you have not required.
7 Then I said, “Behold, I have come;
in the scroll of the book it is written ^dof me:
8 ^eI delight to do your will, O my God;
your law is ^fwithin my heart.”

Psalms 50:8-23

8 Not for your sacrifices ^gdo I rebuke you;
your burnt offerings are continually before me.
9 I will not accept a bull from your house
or goats from your folds.
10 For every beast of the forest is mine,
the cattle on a thousand hills.
11 ^hI know all the birds of the hills,
and all that moves in the field is mine.
12 “If I were hungry, I would not tell you,
ⁱfor the world and its fullness are mine.
13 Do I eat the flesh of bulls
or drink the blood of goats?

and ^lperform your vows to the Most High,
15 and ^mcall upon me in the day of trouble;

“What right have you to recite my statutes
or take my covenant on your lips?
17 ^pFor you hate discipline,
^qand you cast my words behind you.
18 If you see a thief, ^ryou are pleased with him,
^sand you keep company with adulterers.
19 “You give your mouth free rein for evil,
^tand your tongue frames deceit.
20 You sit and speak against your brother;
you slander your own mother’s son.
21 These things you have done, and I ^uhave been silent;
you thought that I ^{▼▼Or that the I am} was one like yourself.
But now I ^wrebuke you and ^xlay the charge before you.
22 “Mark this, then, you who ^yforget God,
lest I tear you apart, and there be ^znone to deliver!
23 The one who ^aaoffers thanksgiving as his sacrifice glorifies me;
to one who ^aborders his way rightly
I will show the ^acsalvation of God!”

Isaiah 1:11

11 ^ad“What to me is the multitude of your sacrifices?
says the Lord;
I have had enough of burnt offerings of rams
and the fat of well-fed beasts;
I do not delight in the blood of bulls,
or of lambs, or of goats.

Jeremiah 6:20

20 ^aeWhat use to me is ^affrankincense that comes from ^agSheba,
or sweet cane from a distant land?
^ahYour burnt offerings are not acceptable,
nor your sacrifices pleasing to me.

Amos 5:21-22

21 ^ai“I hate, I despise your feasts,
and I take no delight in your solemn assemblies.
22 ^ajEven though you offer me your burnt offerings and grain offerings,
I will not accept them;
and the peace offerings of your fattened animals,
I will not look upon them.
