Psalms 41:1

O Lord, Be Gracious to Me

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

1 aBlessed is the one who considers the poor!
Or weak

cIn the day of trouble the Lord delivers him;

Luke 3:8-13

8Bear fruits din keeping with repentance. And do not begin to say to yourselves, e‘We have Abraham as our father.’ For I tell you, God is able from fthese stones to raise up children for Abraham. 9Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. gEvery tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”

10And the crowds asked him, hWhat then shall we do?” 11And he answered them, i“Whoever has two tunics
Greek chiton, a long garment worn under the cloak next to the skin
is to share with him who has none, and whoever has food is to do likewise.”
12 kTax collectors also came to be baptized and said to him, “Teacher, lwhat shall we do?” 13And he said to them, mCollect no more than you are authorized to do.”

Luke 11:41

41But ngive as alms those things that are within, and behold, oeverything is clean for you.

Luke 12:33

33 pSell your possessions, and qgive to the needy. rProvide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with sa treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys.

Luke 16:9

9And I tell you, tmake friends for yourselves by means of uunrighteous wealth,
Greek mammon, a Semitic word for money or possessions; also verse 11; rendered money in verse 13
so that when it fails they may receive you into the eternal dwellings.


Luke 18:22-23

22When Jesus heard this, he said to him, One thing you still lack. wSell all that you have and distribute to the poor, and you will have xtreasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” 23 yBut when he heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich.

Acts 2:44-46

44And all who believed were together and zhad all things in common. 45And aathey were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46And day by day, abattending the temple actogether and adbreaking bread in their homes, they received their food aewith glad and generous hearts,

Acts 4:34-35

34 afThere was not a needy person among them, for agas many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold 35and ahlaid it at the apostlesfeet, and aiit was distributed to each as any had need.
