2 the Lord protects him and keeps him alive;
he is called blessed in the land;
you ^ddo not give him up to the will of his enemies.
3 The Lord sustains him on his sickbed;

Psalms 112:9

9 He has ^fdistributed freely; he has given to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever;
his ^ghorn is exalted in honor.

Proverbs 11:24-25

24 ^hOne gives ⁱfreely, yet grows all the richer;
another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want.
25 ^jWhoever brings blessing ^kwill be enriched,
and ^lone who waters will himself be watered.

Isaiah 58:7-8

7 Is it not ^mto share your bread with the hungry
and bring the homeless poor into your house;
when you see the naked, to cover him,

Isaiah 58:10

The Cheerful Giver

6 The point is this: ^abwhoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully ^{▼▼Greek with blessings; twice in this verse} will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, ^adnot reluctantly or under compulsion, for ^aeGod loves a cheerful giver. 8 And ^afGod is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency ^{▼▼Or all contentment} in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work. 9 As it is written,

^ah“He has distributed freely, he has given to the poor;
his righteousness endures forever.”
10 He who supplies ^aiseed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and ^ajincrease the harvest of your righteousness. 11 ^akYou will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which ^althrough us will produce thanksgiving to God. 12 For the ministry of this service is not only supplying ^amthe needs of the saints but is also overflowing in many thanksgivings to God.
