Why Are You Cast Down, O My Soul?

1 ^cAs a deer pants for flowing streams,
so pants my soul for you, O God.
2 ^dMy soul thirsts for God,
for ^ethe living God.
When shall I come and ^fappear before God? ^{▼▼Revocalization yields and see the face of God}
3 ^hMy tears have been my food
day and night,
ⁱwhile they say to me all the day long,
“Where is your God?”
4 These things I remember,
as I ^jpour out my soul:
^khow I would go ^lwith the throng
and lead them in procession to the house of God
with glad shouts and songs of praise,
^ma multitude keeping festival.
5 ⁿWhy are you cast down, O my soul,
and why are you ^oin turmoil within me?
^pHope in God; for I shall again praise him,
my salvation ^{▼▼Hebrew the salvation of my face; also verse 11 and 43:5} 6 and my God.
My soul is cast down within me;
therefore I ^rremember you
^sfrom the land of Jordan and of ^tHermon,
