3 aGird your bsword on your thigh, O cmighty one,
in dyour splendor and majesty!

Psalms 45:5

5Your arrows are sharp
in the heart of the king’s enemies;
the peoples fall under you.

Isaiah 13:2-5

2 On a bare hill eraise a signal;
cry aloud to them;
wave the hand for fthem to enter
the gates of the nobles.
3I myself have commanded my consecrated ones,
and have summoned my mighty men to execute my anger,

Or those who exult in my majesty

4 The sound hof a tumult is on the mountains

The sound of an uproar of kingdoms,

iThe Lord of hosts is mustering
a host for battle.

the Lord and the weapons of his indignation,
to destroy the whole land.

Isaiah 13:17-18

17 Behold, lI am stirring up the Medes against them,
who have no regard for silver
and do not delight in gold.
18 mTheir bows will slaughter
Hebrew dash in pieces
the young men;
they will have no mercy on the fruit of the womb;
their eyes will not pity children.

Isaiah 21:7-9

7When he sees riders, horsemen in pairs,
riders on donkeys, riders on camels,
let him listen diligently,

that they may become fools!

that they may be destroyed!
37A sword against her horses and against her chariots,

yA sword against all her treasures,
that they may be plundered!

Jeremiah 51:11

11 abSharpen the arrows!
Take up the shields!
acThe Lord has stirred up the spirit of the kings of adthe Medes, because aehis purpose concerning Babylon is to destroy it, affor that is the vengeance of the Lord, the vengeance for aghis temple.
