and boast of the abundance of their riches?

Matthew 16:26

26 For ^fwhat will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or ^gwhat shall a man give in return for his soul?

Mark 8:36

Mark 9:43-48

43 ⁱAnd if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off.
