Psalms 49:6-8

6those who atrust in their wealth
and boast of the abundance of their riches?
7Truly no man bcan ransom another,

Mark 9:43-48

It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into qhell, 48where rtheir worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’

Luke 4:5-7

5 sAnd the devil took him up and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time, 6and said to him, “To you tI will give all this authority and their glory, ufor it has been delivered to me, and I give it to whom I will. 7If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours.”

Luke 12:19-21

19And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have ample goods laid up vfor many years; relax, weat, drink, be merry.”’ 20But God said to him, xFool! yThis night zyour soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, aawhose will they be?’ 21So is the one abwho lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.”

Luke 16:24-25

24And he called out, acFather Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and adcool my tongue, for aeI am in anguish in this flame.’ 25But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that afyou in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish.
