Psalms 49:7-9

7 Truly no man ^acan ransom another,
or ^bgive to God ^cthe price of his life,
8 for ^dthe ransom of their life is costly
and can never suffice,
9 that he should live on forever
and ^enever see the pit.

Jeremiah 15:1

The Lord Will Not Relent

1 Then the Lord said to me, ^f“Though ^gMoses ^hand Samuel ⁱstood before me, yet my heart would not turn toward this people. Send them out of my sight, and let them go!

Ezekiel 14:14-16

14 ^jeven if these three men, ^kNoah, ^lDaniel, and ^mJob, were in it, ⁿthey would deliver but their own lives by their righteousness, declares the Lord God.

15 ^o“If I cause wild beasts to pass through the land, and they ravage it, ^pand it be made desolate, so that no one may pass through because of the beasts, 16 even if these three men were in it, ^qas I live, declares the Lord God, they would deliver neither sons nor daughters. They alone would be delivered, but ^rthe land would be desolate.

Ezekiel 14:20

20 even if Noah, Daniel, and Job were in it, as I live, declares the Lord God, they would deliver neither son nor daughter. They would deliver but their own lives by their righteousness.
