Bless the Lord, O My Soul

1 ^dBless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name!
2 ^eBless the Lord, O my soul,
and ^fforget not all his benefits,
3who ^gforgives all your iniquity,
who ^hheals all your diseases,
4who ⁱredeems your life from the pit,
who ^jcrowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
5who ^ksatisfies you with good
so that your youth is renewed like ^lthe eagle’s.
6 The Lord works ^mrighteousness
and justice for all who are oppressed.

Psalms 116

I Love the Lord

1 I ⁿlove the Lord, because he has ^oheard
my voice and my pleas for mercy.
2Because he ^pinclined his ear to me,
therefore I will call on him as long as I live.
3 ^qThe snares of death encompassed me;
the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me;
I suffered distress and anguish.
4Then ^rI called on the name of the Lord:
“O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!”
5 ^sGracious is the Lord, and ^trighteous;
our God is ^umerciful.
6The Lord preserves ^vthe simple;
when ^wI was brought low, he saved me.
7Return, O my soul, to your ^xrest;
for the Lord has ^ydealt bountifully with you.
8 For ^zyou have delivered my soul from death,
my eyes from tears,
my feet from stumbling;
9I will walk before the Lord
^aain the land of the living.

“I am greatly afflicted”;

for all his benefits to me?

and ^aicall on the name of the Lord,
14I will ^ajpay my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all his people.
15 ^akPrecious in the sight of the Lord
is the death of his ^alsaints.
16O Lord, I am your ^amservant;
I am your servant, ^anthe son of your maidservant.
You have ^aoloosed my bonds.
17I will ^apoffer to you the sacrifice of thanksgiving
and ^aqcall on the name of the Lord.
18I will ^arpay my vows to the Lord
in the presence of all his people,
19in ^asthe courts of the house of the Lord,
in your midst, O Jerusalem.
