19 “You give your mouth free rein for evil,
aand your tongue frames deceit.

2Hide me from bthe secret plots of the wicked,
from the throng of evildoers,

who daim bitter words like arrows,
4shooting from eambush at the blameless,
shooting at him suddenly and fwithout fear.
5They ghold fast to their evil purpose;
they talk of hlaying snares secretly,
thinking, iWho can see them?”

saying, “We have accomplished a diligent search.”
For jthe inward mind and heart of a man are deep.

Psalms 140:2-3

2who plan evil things in their heart
and kstir up wars continually.
3They make ltheir tongue sharp as ma serpent’s,
and nunder their lips is the ovenom of asps.  Selah

Proverbs 6:16-19

16 There are psix things that the Lord hates,
qseven that are an abomination to him:
17 rhaughty eyes, sa lying tongue,
and thands that shed innocent blood,
18 ua heart that devises wicked plans,
vfeet that make haste to run to evil,
19 wa false witness who xbreathes out lies,
and one who ysows discord among brothers.

Proverbs 30:14

Jeremiah 9:3-4

falsehood and not truth has grown strong

and put no trust in any brother,
for every agbrother is a deceiver,

Jeremiah 18:18

18Then they said, aiCome, let us make plots against Jeremiah, ajfor the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. akCome, let us strike him with the tongue, and let us not pay attention to any of his words.”
