Psalms 50:21

21These things you have done, and I ahave been silent;
you thought that I
Or  that the I am
was one like yourself.
But now I crebuke you and dlay the charge before you.

Jeremiah 2:17-23

17 eHave you not brought this upon yourself
by forsaking the Lord your God,
when fhe led you in the way?
18 gAnd now what do you gain by going to Egypt
to drink the waters of hthe Nile?
iOr what do you gain by going to Assyria
to drink the waters of jthe Euphrates?
Hebrew  the River

19 lYour evil will chastise you,
and myour apostasy will reprove you.
Know and see that it is evil and nbitter
for oyou to forsake the Lord your God;
the fear of me is not in you,

declares the Lord God of hosts.
20 For long ago I pbroke your yoke
and burst your bonds;
but you said, q‘I will not serve.’
Yes, ron every high hill
and under every green tree
you bowed down slike a whore.
21 tYet I planted you a choice vine,
wholly of pure seed.
uHow then have you turned degenerate
and become a wild vine?
22Though you wash yourself with lye
and use much soap,
vthe stain of your guilt is still before me,

declares the Lord God.
23 wHow can you say, ‘I am not unclean,
I have not gone after the Baals’?
Look at your way xin the valley;
know what you have done
a restless young camel running here and there,

Jeremiah 2:29-37

29 Why do you contend with me?
You have all transgressed against me,

declares the Lord.
30In vain have I ystruck your children;
they took no correction;
zyour own sword devoured your prophets
like a ravening lion.
31And you, O generation, behold the word of the Lord.
Have I been a wilderness to Israel,
or a land of thick darkness?
Why then do my people say, ‘We are free,
we will come no more to you’?
32 aaCan a virgin forget her ornaments,
or a bride her attire?
Yet abmy people have forgotten me
days without number.
33 How well you direct your course
to seek love!
So that even to wicked women
you have taught your ways.
34Also on your skirts is found
acthe lifeblood of the guiltless poor;
you did not find them adbreaking in.
Yet in spite of all these things
35you say, ‘I am innocent;
surely his anger has turned from me.’
aeBehold, I will bring you to judgment
for afsaying, ‘I have not sinned.’
36 agHow much you go about,
changing your way!
You shall be ahput to shame by Egypt
as you were put to shame by Assyria.
37From it too you will come away
with aiyour hands on your head,
for the Lord has rejected those in whom you trust,
and you will not prosper by them.

Jeremiah 16:10-13

10“And when you tell this people all these words, and they say to you, ajWhy has the Lord pronounced all this great evil against us? What is our iniquity? What is the sin that we have committed against the Lord our God?’ 11then you shall say to them: akBecause your fathers have forsaken me, declares the Lord, and alhave gone after other gods and have served and worshiped them, and have forsaken me and have not kept my law, 12and because amyou have done worse than your fathers, for behold, anevery one of you follows his stubborn, evil will, refusing to listen to me. 13Therefore aoI will hurl you out of this land into apa land that neither you nor your fathers have known, aqand there you shall serve other gods day and night, for I will show you no favor.’
