Probably a musical or liturgical term
A Psalm of David.

1 O Lord, crebuke me not in your anger,
nor ddiscipline me in your wrath.
2Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am languishing;
eheal me, O Lord, ffor my bones are troubled.
3My gsoul also is greatly troubled.
But you, O Lordhhow long?
4 Turn, O Lord, deliver my life;
save me for the sake of your steadfast love.
5For in ideath there is no remembrance of you;
in Sheol who will give you praise?
6 I am jweary with my kmoaning;
every night I flood my bed with tears;
I drench my couch with my weeping.
7My leye wastes away because of grief;
it grows weak because of all my foes.
8 mDepart from me, all you nworkers of evil,
for the Lord ohas heard the sound of my weeping.
9The Lord has heard my pplea;
the Lord accepts my prayer.
10All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly troubled;
they shall qturn back and be put to shame in a moment.

Psalms 106

Give Thanks to the Lord, for He Is Good

1 rPraise the Lord!
sOh give thanks to the Lord, tfor he is good,
ufor his steadfast love endures forever!
2Who can utter the mighty deeds of the Lord,
or declare all his praise?
3Blessed are they who observe justice,
who vdo righteousness at all times!
4 wRemember me, O Lord, when you show favor to your people;
help me when you save them,
Or  Remember me, O Lord, with the favor you show to your people; help me with your salvation

5that I may look upon the prosperity of your ychosen ones,
that I may rejoice in the gladness of your nation,
that I may glory with your inheritance.
6 zBoth we and aaour fathers have sinned;
we have committed iniquity; we have done wickedness.
7Our fathers, when they were in Egypt,
did not consider your wondrous works;
they abdid not remember the abundance of your steadfast love,
but acrebelled by the sea, at the Red Sea.
8Yet he saved them adfor his name’s sake,
aethat he might make known his mighty power.
9He afrebuked the Red Sea, and it agbecame dry,
and he ahled them through the deep as through a desert.
10So he aisaved them from the hand of the foe
and ajredeemed them from the power of the enemy.
11And akthe waters covered their adversaries;
not one of them was left.
12Then althey believed his words;
they amsang his praise.
13 But they soon anforgot his works;
they did not wait for aohis counsel.
14But they had apa wanton craving in the wilderness,
and aqput God to the test in the desert;
15he argave them what they asked,
but sent asa wasting disease among them.
16 When men in the camp atwere jealous of Moses
and Aaron, authe holy one of the Lord,
17 avthe earth opened and swallowed up Dathan,
and covered the company of Abiram.
18 awFire also broke out in their company;
the flame burned up the wicked.
19 They axmade a calf in Horeb
and worshiped a metal image.
20They ayexchanged the glory of God
Hebrew  exchanged their glory

for the image of an ox that eats grass.
21They baforgot God, their Savior,
who had done great things in Egypt,
22wondrous works in bbthe land of Ham,
and awesome deeds by the Red Sea.
23Therefore bche said he would destroy them—
had not Moses, his bdchosen one,
bestood in the breach before him,
to turn away his wrath from destroying them.
24 Then they bfdespised bgthe pleasant land,
having bhno faith in his promise.
25They bimurmured in their tents,
and did not obey the voice of the Lord.
26Therefore he bjraised his hand and swore to them
that he would make them fall in the wilderness,
27and would make their offspring fall among the nations,
bkscattering them among the lands.
28 Then they blyoked themselves to the bmBaal of Peor,
and ate sacrifices offered to bnthe dead;
29they provoked the Lord to anger with their deeds,
and a plague broke out among them.
30Then boPhinehas stood up and intervened,
and the plague was stayed.
31And that was bpcounted to him as righteousness
from generation to generation forever.
32 They bqangered him at the waters of Meribah,
and it went ill with Moses on their account,
33for they brmade his spirit bitter,
Or  they rebelled against God’s Spirit

and he btspoke rashly with his lips.
34 They did not budestroy the peoples,
bvas the Lord commanded them,
35but they bwmixed with the nations
and learned to do as they did.
36They served their idols,
which became bxa snare to them.
37They bysacrificed their sons
and their daughters to bzthe demons;
38they poured out innocent blood,
the blood of their sons and daughters,
whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan,
and the land was capolluted with blood.
39Thus they cbbecame unclean by their acts,
and ccplayed the whore in their deeds.
40 Then cdthe anger of the Lord was kindled against cehis people,
and he abhorred his cfheritage;
41he cggave them into the hand of the nations,
so that those who hated them ruled over them.
42Their enemies choppressed them,
and they were brought into subjection under their power.
43 ciMany times he delivered them,
but they were rebellious in their cjpurposes
and were ckbrought low through their iniquity.
44 Nevertheless, he looked upon their distress,
when he clheard their cry.
45For their sake he cmremembered his covenant,
and cnrelented according to cothe abundance of his steadfast love.
46He caused them to be cppitied
by all those who held them captive.
47 cqSave us, O Lord our God,
and crgather us from among the nations,
that we may give thanks to your holy name
and glory in your praise.
48 csBlessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
from everlasting to everlasting!
ctAnd let all the people say, “Amen!”
cuPraise the Lord!
