A Psalm of David.

1 O Lord, crebuke me not in your anger,
nor ddiscipline me in your wrath.
2Be gracious to me, O Lord, for I am languishing;
eheal me, O Lord, ffor my bones are troubled.
3My gsoul also is greatly troubled.
But you, O Lordhhow long?
4 Turn, O Lord, deliver my life;
save me for the sake of your steadfast love.
5For in ideath there is no remembrance of you;
in Sheol who will give you praise?
6 I am jweary with my kmoaning;
every night I flood my bed with tears;
I drench my couch with my weeping.
7My leye wastes away because of grief;
it grows weak because of all my foes.
8 mDepart from me, all you nworkers of evil,
for the Lord ohas heard the sound of my weeping.
9The Lord has heard my pplea;
the Lord accepts my prayer.
10All my enemies shall be ashamed and greatly troubled;
they shall qturn back and be put to shame in a moment.

Psalms 129

They Have Afflicted Me from My Youth

A Song of rAscents.

1 Greatly
Or Often; also verse 2
have they tafflicted me ufrom my youth”—
vlet Israel now say
2Greatly have they wafflicted me xfrom my youth,
yyet they have not prevailed against me.
3 zThe plowers plowed aaupon my back;
they made long their furrows.”
4The Lord is righteous;
he has cut abthe cords of the wicked.
5May all who hate Zion
be acput to shame and turned backward!
6Let them be like adthe grass on the housetops,
which aewithers before it grows up,
7with which the reaper does not fill his hand
nor the binder of sheaves his arms,
8nor do those who pass by say,
af“The blessing of the Lord be upon you!
We agbless you in the name of the Lord!”
