But you, O Lordhhow long?
4 Turn, O Lord, deliver my life;

5For in ideath there is no remembrance of you;
in Sheol who will give you praise?
6 I am jweary with my kmoaning;
every night I flood my bed with tears;
I drench my couch with my weeping.
7My leye wastes away because of grief;
it grows weak because of all my foes.
8 mDepart from me, all you nworkers of evil,
for the Lord ohas heard the sound of my weeping.

How Long, O Lord?

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

1 qHow long, O Lord? Will you rforget me forever?
How long will you shide your face from me?
2How long must I take tcounsel in my soul
and have sorrow in my heart all the day?
How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
3 uConsider and answer me, O Lord my God;
vlight up my eyes, lest wI sleep the sleep of death,
4 xlest my enemy say, “I have prevailed over him,”
lest my foes rejoice because I am yshaken.
5 But I have ztrusted in your steadfast love;
my heart shall aarejoice in your salvation.

and aeto the Lord I plead for mercy:
9“What profit is there in my death,
Hebrew  in my blood

if I go down to the pit?
Or  to corruption

Will ahthe dust praise you?
Will it tell of your faithfulness?
10 aiHear, O Lord, and be merciful to me!
O Lord, be my helper!”
11 You have turned for me my mourning into ajdancing;
you have loosed my sackcloth
and clothed me with gladness,

Hebrew  my vitality was changed
as by the heat of summer.  Selah
5 I aoacknowledged my sin to you,
and I did not cover my iniquity;
I said, “I apwill confess my transgressions to the Lord,”
and you forgave the iniquity of my sin.  Selah
6 Therefore let everyone who is aqgodly
offer prayer to you at a time when you armay be found;
surely in the rush of asgreat waters,
they shall not reach him.
7You are a athiding place for me;
you preserve me from autrouble;
you surround me with avshouts of deliverance.  Selah
