Psalms 6:5

5For in adeath there is no remembrance of you;
in Sheol who will give you praise?

Isaiah 38:16-20

16 bO Lord, by these things men live,
and in all these is the life of my spirit.
Oh restore me to health and make me live!
17 cBehold, it was for my welfare
that I had great bitterness;
dbut in love you have delivered my life
from the pit of destruction,
efor you have cast all my sins
behind your back.
18 fFor Sheol does not thank you;
death does not praise you;
those who go down to the pit do not hope
for your faithfulness.
19The living, the living, he thanks you,
as I do this day;
gthe father makes known to the children
your faithfulness.
20 The Lord will save me,
and we will play my music on stringed instruments
all the days of our lives,
hat the house of the Lord.

Habakkuk 1:12

Habakkuk’s Second Complaint

12 Are you not ifrom everlasting,
O Lord my God, my Holy One?
jWe shall not die.
O Lord, kyou have ordained them as a judgment,
and you, O lRock, have established them for reproof.

John 11:4

4But when Jesus heard it he said, mThis illness does not lead to death. It is for nthe glory of God, so that the Son of God may be glorified through it.”

Romans 14:7-9

7For onone of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself. 8For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, pwhether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. 9For to this end Christ qdied and lived again, that he might be Lord both rof the dead and of the living.
