He Will Tread Down Our Foes

1 O God, fyou have rejected us, gbroken our defenses;
you have been angry; hoh, restore us.
2You have made the land to quake; you have torn it open;
irepair its breaches, for it totters.
3 jYou have made your people see hard things;
kyou have given us lwine to drink that made us stagger.
4 You have set up ma banner for those who fear you,
that they may flee to it nfrom the bow.
Or  that it may be displayed because of truth

5 pThat your qbeloved ones may be delivered,
give salvation by your right hand and answer us!
6 God has spoken rin his holiness:
Or sanctuary

“With exultation tI will divide up uShechem
and portion out the Vale of vSuccoth.
7 wGilead is mine; Manasseh is mine;
xEphraim is ymy helmet;
Judah is my zscepter.
8 aaMoab is my washbasin;
upon Edom I abcast my shoe;
over acPhilistia I shout in triumph.”

it is he who will ajtread down our foes.
