1 O God, fyou have rejected us, gbroken our defenses;
you have been angry; hoh, restore us.

Psalms 79:5-6

and on the kingdoms
that odo not call upon your name!

Jeremiah 44:6

Lamentations 1:12-15

to crush my young men;

the virgin daughter of Judah.

Lamentations 2:3-5

3 He has cut down in acfierce anger
all adthe might of Israel;
aehe has withdrawn from them his right hand
in the face of the enemy;
afhe has burned like a flaming fire in Jacob,
consuming all around.
4 agHe has bent his bow like an enemy,
with his right hand set ahlike a foe;
and he has killed all who were delightful in our eyes
in the tent of the daughter of Zion;
he has poured out his fury like fire.
5 aiThe Lord has become like an enemy;
ajhe has swallowed up Israel;
akhe has swallowed up all its palaces;
he has laid in ruins its strongholds,
and he has multiplied in the daughter of Judah
almourning and lamentation.

Lamentations 3:42-45

42 amWe have transgressed and anrebelled,
and you have not forgiven.
43 “You have wrapped yourself with anger and pursued us,
aokilling without pity;
44 apyou have wrapped yourself with a cloud
so that no prayer can pass through.
45 aqYou have made us scum and garbage
among the peoples.
