Psalms 60:3

3 aYou have made your people see hard things;
byou have given us cwine to drink that made us stagger.

Isaiah 51:17-22

17 dWake yourself, wake yourself,
stand up, O Jerusalem,
eyou who have drunk from the hand of the Lord
the cup of his wrath,
who have drunk to the dregs
the bowl, fthe cup of staggering.
18 gThere is none to guide her
among all the sons she has borne;
there is none to take her by the hand
among all the sons she has brought up.
19 hThese two things have happened to you—
who will console you?—
devastation and destruction, famine and sword;
who will comfort you?
Dead Sea Scroll, Septuagint, Syriac, Vulgate; Masoretic Text how shall I comfort you

20 jYour sons have fainted;
they lie at the head of every street
like an kantelope lin a net;
they are full of the wrath of the Lord,
the rebuke of your God.
21 mTherefore hear this, you who are afflicted,
who are drunk, but not with wine:
22Thus says your Lord, the Lord,
your God nwho pleads the cause of his people:
Behold, I have taken from your hand othe cup of staggering;
the bowl of my wrath you shall drink no more;

Jeremiah 1:10

10See, I have set you this day pover nations and over kingdoms,
qto pluck up and to break down,
to destroy and to overthrow,
to build and to plant.”

Jeremiah 19:3-9

3You shall say, rHear the word of the Lord, sO kings of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem. Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I am bringing such disaster upon this place that tthe ears of everyone who hears of it will tingle. 4 uBecause the people have forsaken me and have profaned this place by making offerings in it to other gods whom neither they nor their fathers nor the kings of Judah have known; vand because they have filled this place with the blood of innocents, 5 wand have built the high places of Baal xto burn their sons in the fire as burnt offerings to Baal, ywhich I did not command or decree, nor did it come into my mind 6therefore, zbehold, days are coming, declares the Lord, when this place shall no more be called Topheth, or aathe Valley of the Son of Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter. 7And in this place abI will make void the plans of Judah and Jerusalem, acand will cause their people to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hand of those who seek their life. adI will give their dead bodies for food to the birds of the air and to the beasts of the earth. 8And I will make this city aea horror, afa thing to be hissed at. Everyone who passes by it will be horrified and will hiss because of all its wounds. 9 agAnd I will make them eat the flesh of their sons and their daughters, and everyone shall eat the flesh of his neighbor ahin the siege and in the distress, with which their enemies and those who seek their life afflict them.’

Jeremiah 21:6-10

6And I will strike down the inhabitants of this city, both man and beast. They shall die of a great pestilence. 7Afterward, declares the Lord, aiI will give Zedekiah king of Judah and his servants and the people in this city who survive the pestilence, sword, and famine into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and into the hand of their enemies, into the hand of those who seek their lives. He shall strike them down with the edge of the sword. ajHe shall not pity them or spare them or have compassion.’

8“And to this people you shall say: akThus says the Lord: Behold, alI set before you the way of life and the way of death. 9He who stays in this city shall die amby the sword, by famine, and by pestilence, but he who goes out and ansurrenders to the Chaldeans who are besieging you shall live aoand shall have his life as a prize of war. 10For apI have set my face against this city for harm and aqnot for good, declares the Lord: arit shall be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire.’

Ezekiel 9:5-8

5And to asthe others he said in my hearing, “Pass through the city after him, and strike. atYour eye shall not spare, and you shall show no pity. 6 auKill old men outright, young men and maidens, little children and women, but avtouch no one on whom is the mark. And awbegin at my sanctuary.” So they began with the elders who were before the house. 7Then he said to them, axDefile the house, and fill the courts with the slain. Go out.” So they went out and struck in the city. 8And while they were striking, and I was left alone, ayI fell upon my face, and cried, azAh, Lord God! baWill you destroy all the remnant of Israel bbin the outpouring of your wrath on Jerusalem?”

Daniel 9:12

12He has confirmed his words, which he spoke against us and against bcour rulers who ruled us,
Or  our judges who judged us
by bebringing upon us a great calamity. bfFor under the whole heaven there has not been done anything like what has been done against Jerusalem.
