Psalms 62:9

9 aThose of low estate are but a breath;
those of high estate bare a delusion;
in the balances they go up;
cthey are together lighter than a breath.

Isaiah 2:9

9So man dis humbled,
and each one eis brought low
do not forgive them!

Isaiah 2:11

11 fThe haughty looks of man shall be brought low,
and the lofty pride of men shall be humbled,
and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.

Isaiah 2:17

17 gAnd the haughtiness of man shall be humbled,
and the lofty pride of men shall be brought low,
and the Lord alone will be exalted in that day.

Isaiah 9:14-17

14So the Lord cut off from Israel hhead and tail,
palm branch and reed in one day
15 ithe elder and honored man is the head,
and jthe prophet who teaches lies is the tail;
16for those who guide this people have been leading them astray,
and those who are guided by them are swallowed up.
17Therefore the Lord does not krejoice over their young men,
and has no compassion on their fatherless and widows;
for everyone is lgodless and an evildoer,
and every mouth speaks mfolly.
Or  speaks disgraceful things

oFor all this his anger has not turned away,
and his hand is stretched out still.

Isaiah 24:2-4

2 pAnd it shall be, as with the people, so with the priest;
as with the slave, so with his master;
as with the maid, so with her mistress;
qas with the buyer, so with the seller;
as with the lender, so with the borrower;
ras with the creditor, so with the debtor.
3 sThe earth shall be utterly empty and utterly plundered;
tfor the Lord has spoken this word.
4 uThe earth mourns and withers;
the world languishes and withers;
the highest people of the earth languish.

Jeremiah 5:4-5

4 Then I said, “These are only the poor;
they have no sense;
vfor they do not know the way of the Lord,
the justice of their God.
5I will go to the great
and will speak to them,
for they know the way of the Lord,
the justice of their God.”
wBut they all alike had broken the yoke;
they had burst the bonds.

Jeremiah 5:9

9 xShall I not punish them for these things?

declares the Lord;
and shall I not avenge myself
on a nation such as this?

James 1:9-11

9Let the lowly brother boast in his exaltation, 10and ythe rich in his humiliation, because zlike a flower of the grass
Or  a wild flower
he will pass away.
11For the sun rises with its scorching heat and abwithers the grass; its flower falls, and its beauty perishes. So also will the rich man fade away in the midst of his pursuits.
