Psalms 66:16

16 aCome and hear, all you who fear God,
and I will tell what he has done for my soul.

Isaiah 38:9-20

9A writing of Hezekiah king of Judah, after he had been sick and had recovered from his sickness:

10 I said, bIn the middle
Or  In the quiet
of my days
I must depart;
I am consigned to the gates of Sheol
for the rest of my years.
11I said, I shall not see the Lord,
the Lord din the land of the living;
I shall look on man no more
among the inhabitants of the world.
12My dwelling is plucked up and removed from me
elike a shepherd’s tent;
flike a weaver gI have rolled up my life;
hhe cuts me off from the loom;
ifrom day to night you bring me to an end;
13 jI calmed myself
Or (with Targum)  I cried for help
until morning;
like a lion lhe breaks all my bones;
from day to night you bring me to an end.
14 Like ma swallow or a crane I chirp;
nI moan like a dove.
oMy eyes are weary with looking upward.
O Lord, I am oppressed; pbe my pledge of safety!
15What shall I say? For he has spoken to me,
and he himself has done it.
qI walk slowly all my years
because of the bitterness of my soul.
16 rO Lord, by these things men live,
and in all these is the life of my spirit.
Oh restore me to health and make me live!
17 sBehold, it was for my welfare
that I had great bitterness;
tbut in love you have delivered my life
from the pit of destruction,
ufor you have cast all my sins
behind your back.
18 vFor Sheol does not thank you;
death does not praise you;
those who go down to the pit do not hope
for your faithfulness.
19The living, the living, he thanks you,
as I do this day;
wthe father makes known to the children
your faithfulness.
20 The Lord will save me,
and we will play my music on stringed instruments
all the days of our lives,
xat the house of the Lord.

Daniel 4:1-3

1
Ch 3:31 in Aramaic
King Nebuchadnezzar to all zpeoples, nations, and languages, aathat dwell in all the earth: abPeace be multiplied to you!
2It has seemed good to me to show the acsigns and wonders that the adMost High God has done for me.

3 How great are aehis signs,
how mighty his afwonders!
agHis kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
ahand his dominion endures from generation to generation.

Daniel 4:37

37Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, aipraise and extol and honor the ajKing of heaven, akfor all his works are right and his ways are just; and althose who walk in pride he is able to humble.

Daniel 6:25-27

25Then King Darius wrote to all amthe peoples, nations, and languages anthat dwell in all the earth: aoPeace be multiplied to you. 26 apI make a decree, that in all my royal dominion aqpeople are to tremble and fear before the God of Daniel,

for arhe is asthe living God,
enduring forever;
his kingdom shall never be destroyed,
atand his dominion shall be auto the end.
27He delivers and rescues;
he works avsigns and wonders
in heaven and on earth,
he who has awsaved Daniel
from the power of the lions.”

Jonah 2

Jonah’s Prayer

1Then Jonah prayed to the Lord his God from the belly of the fish, 2saying,

ax“I called out to the Lord, out of my distress,
and he answered me;
ayout of the belly of Sheol I cried,
azand you heard my voice.
3 baFor you cast me into the deep,
into the heart of the seas,
and the flood surrounded me;
bball your waves and your billows
passed over me.
4 bcThen I said, ‘I am driven away
from your sight;
bdyet I shall again look
upon your holy temple.’
5 beThe waters closed in over me bfto take my life;
the deep surrounded me;
weeds were wrapped about my head
6at the roots of the mountains.
I went down to the land
whose bars closed upon me forever;
yet you brought up my life from the pit,
O Lord my God.
7When my life was fainting away,
I remembered the Lord,
bgand my prayer came to you,
into your holy temple.
8 bhThose who pay regard to vain idols
biforsake their hope of steadfast love.
9 bjBut I with the voice of thanksgiving
will sacrifice to you;
what I have vowed I will pay.
bkSalvation belongs to the Lord!”
10And the Lord spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah out upon the dry land.

John 4:29
