Psalms 68:22

22The Lord said,
“I will bring them back afrom Bashan,
bI will bring them back from the depths of the sea,

Psalms 78:12-72

12In the sight of their fathers che performed wonders
in the land of Egypt, in dthe fields of Zoan.
13He edivided the sea and let them pass through it,
and made the waters fstand like a heap.
14 gIn the daytime he led them with a cloud,
and all the night with a fiery light.
15He hsplit rocks in the wilderness
and gave them drink abundantly as from the deep.
16He made streams come out of ithe rock
and caused waters to flow down like rivers.
17 Yet they sinned still more against him,
jrebelling against the Most High in the desert.
18They ktested God in their heart
by demanding the food they craved.
19They spoke against God, saying,
lCan God mspread a table in the wilderness?
20 nHe struck the rock so that water gushed out
and streams overflowed.
Can he also give bread
or provide meat for his people?”
21 Therefore, when the Lord heard, he was full of wrath;
oa fire was kindled against Jacob;
his anger rose against Israel,
22because they pdid not believe in God
and did not trust his saving power.
23Yet he commanded the skies above
and qopened the doors of heaven,
24and he rrained down on them manna to eat
and gave them sthe grain of heaven.
25Man ate of the bread of tthe angels;
he sent them food uin abundance.
26He vcaused the east wind to blow in the heavens,
and by his power he led out the south wind;
27he rained meat on them like wdust,
winged birds like xthe sand of the seas;
28he ylet them fall in the midst of their camp,
all around their dwellings.
29And they zate and were well filled,
for he gave them what they aacraved.
30But before they had satisfied their craving,
abwhile the food was still in their mouths,
31the anger of God rose against them,
and he killed acthe strongest of them
and laid low adthe young men of Israel.
32 In spite of all this, they aestill sinned;
afdespite his wonders, they did not believe.
33So he made agtheir days ahvanish like
Hebrew in
a breath,
Or vapor

and their years in terror.
34When he killed them, they aksought him;
they repented and sought God earnestly.
35They remembered that God was their alrock,
the Most High God their amredeemer.
36But they anflattered him with their mouths;
they aolied to him with their tongues.
37Their apheart was not aqsteadfast toward him;
they were not faithful to his covenant.
38Yet he, being arcompassionate,
asatoned for their iniquity
and did not destroy them;
he restrained his anger often
and did not stir up all his wrath.
39He atremembered that they were but auflesh,
ava wind that passes and comes not again.
40How often they awrebelled against him in the wilderness
and axgrieved him in aythe desert!
41They aztested God again and again
and provoked bathe Holy One of Israel.
42They bbdid not remember his power
Hebrew hand

or the day when he redeemed them from the foe,
43 bdwhen he performed his besigns in Egypt
and his bfmarvels in bgthe fields of Zoan.
44He bhturned their rivers to blood,
so that they could not drink of their streams.
45He sent among them swarms of biflies, which devoured them,
and bjfrogs, which destroyed them.
46He gave their crops to bkthe destroying locust
and the fruit of their labor to the locust.
47He destroyed their vines with blhail
and their sycamores with frost.
48He gave over their bmcattle to the hail
and their flocks to thunderbolts.
49He let loose on them his burning anger,
wrath, indignation, and distress,
a company of bndestroying angels.
50He made a path for his anger;
he did not spare them from death,
but gave their lives over to the plague.
51He struck down every bofirstborn in Egypt,
the firstfruits of their strength in the tents of bpHam.
52Then he led out his people bqlike sheep
and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.
53 brHe led them in safety, so that they bswere not afraid,
but btthe sea overwhelmed their enemies.
54And he brought them to his buholy land,
bvto the mountain which his right hand had bwwon.
55He bxdrove out nations before them;
he byapportioned them for a possession
and settled the tribes of Israel in their tents.
56 Yet they bztested and carebelled against the Most High God
and did not keep his testimonies,
57but turned away and acted treacherously like their fathers;
they twisted like cba deceitful bow.
58For they ccprovoked him to anger with their cdhigh places;
they cemoved him to jealousy with their cfidols.
59When God heard, he was full of cgwrath,
and he utterly rejected Israel.
60He chforsook his dwelling at ciShiloh,
the tent where he dwelt among mankind,
61and delivered his cjpower to captivity,
his ckglory to the hand of the foe.
62He clgave his people over to the sword
and cmvented his wrath on his heritage.
63 cnFire devoured their young men,
and their young women had no comarriage song.
64Their cppriests fell by the sword,
and their cqwidows made no lamentation.
65Then the Lord crawoke as from sleep,
like a strong man shouting because of wine.
66And he csput his adversaries to rout;
he put them to everlasting shame.
67 He rejected the tent of ctJoseph;
he did not choose the tribe of Ephraim,
68but he chose the tribe of Judah,
Mount Zion, which he culoves.
69He cvbuilt his sanctuary like the high heavens,
like the earth, which he has founded forever.
70He cwchose David his servant
and took him from the sheepfolds;
71from cxfollowing the nursing ewes he brought him
to cyshepherd Jacob his people,
Israel his czinheritance.
72With daupright heart he shepherded them
and dbguided them with his skillful hand.

Isaiah 11:16

16And there will be dca highway from Assyria
for the remnant that remains of his people,
ddas there was for Israel
when they came up from the land of Egypt.

Isaiah 51:9

9 deAwake, awake, dfput on strength,
O dgarm of the Lord;
awake, dhas in days of old,
the generations of long ago.
Was it not you who cut diRahab in pieces,
who pierced djthe dragon?

Isaiah 63:11-15

11Then he remembered dkthe days of old,
of Moses and his people.
Or  Then his people remembered the days of old, of Moses

dmWhere is he who brought them up out of the sea
with the shepherds of his flock?
Where is he who put in the midst of them
his Holy Spirit,
12who caused his glorious arm
to go at the right hand of Moses,
dnwho divided the waters before them
doto make for himself an everlasting name,
13who led them through the depths?
Like a horse in the desert,
they did not stumble.
14Like livestock that go down into the valley,
dpthe Spirit of the Lord gave them rest.
So you led your people,
dqto make for yourself a glorious name.

Prayer for Mercy

15 drLook down from heaven and see,
dsfrom your holy and beautiful
Or  holy and glorious
habitation.
Where are duyour zeal and your might?
The stirring of your inner parts and your compassion
are held back from me.

Jeremiah 23:7-8

7 dvTherefore, behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when they shall no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives who brought up the people of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’ 8but ‘As the Lord lives who brought up and led the offspring of the house of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he
Septuagint; Hebrew I
had driven them.’ Then they shall dwell in their own land.”
