Save Me, O God

To the choirmaster: according to aLilies. Of David.

1 Save me, O God!
For bthe waters have come up to my neck.
Or  waters threaten my life

2I sink in deep dmire,
where there is no foothold;
I have come into deep waters,
and the flood esweeps over me.
3 fI am weary with my crying out;
gmy throat is parched.
hMy eyes grow dim
with iwaiting for my God.

Psalms 88:3

3 For my soul is full of troubles,
and jmy life draws near to kSheol.

Isaiah 53:3

3 lHe was despised and rejected
Or forsaken
by men,
a man of sorrows,
Or pains; also verse 4
and acquainted with
Or  and knowing
grief;
Or sickness; also verse 4

and as one from whom men hide their faces
Or  as one who hides his face from us

he was despised, and rwe esteemed him not.

Matthew 26:38-39

38Then he said to them, sMy soul is very sorrowful, even to death; remain here, and twatch
Or keep awake; also verses 40, 41
with me.”
39And going a little farther he fell on his face vand prayed, saying, My Father, if it be possible, let wthis cup pass from me; xnevertheless, not as I will, but as you will.”

42Again, for the second time, he went away and prayed, My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, yyour will be done.”
