Psalms 74:3-11

3Direct your steps to athe perpetual ruins;
the enemy has destroyed everything in the sanctuary!
4 Your foes have broared in the midst of your meeting place;
cthey set up their down signs for esigns.
5They were like those who swing faxes
in a forest of trees.
The meaning of the Hebrew is uncertain

6And all its hcarved wood
they broke down with hatchets and hammers.
7They iset your sanctuary on fire;
they jprofaned kthe dwelling place of your name,
bringing it down to the ground.
8They lsaid to themselves, “We will utterly subdue them”;
they burned all the meeting places of God in the land.
9 We do not see our msigns;
nthere is no longer any prophet,
and there is none among us who knows how long.
10How long, O God, ois the foe to scoff?
Is the enemy to revile your name forever?
11Why pdo you hold back your hand, your right hand?
Take it from the fold of your garment
Hebrew  from your bosom
and destroy them!

Psalms 83:3-9

3They lay rcrafty plans against your people;
they consult together against your streasured ones.
4They say, “Come, tlet us wipe them out as a nation;
let the name of Israel be remembered no more!”
5For they conspire with one accord;
against you they make a covenant
6the tents of uEdom and vthe Ishmaelites,
wMoab and xthe Hagrites,
7 yGebal and zAmmon and aaAmalek,
abPhilistia with the inhabitants of acTyre;
8 adAsshur also has joined them;
they are the strong arm of aethe children of Lot.  Selah
9 Do to them as you did to afMidian,
as to agSisera and Jabin at ahthe river Kishon,

let Jerusalem say.

Habakkuk 2:17-20

17 aqThe violence ardone to Lebanon will overwhelm you,
as will the destruction of the beasts that terrified them,
asfor the blood of man and violence to the earth,
to cities and all who dwell in them.
18 atWhat profit is an idol
when its maker has shaped it,
a metal image, aua teacher of lies?
For its maker trusts in his own creation
when he makes avspeechless idols!
19 awWoe to him axwho says to a wooden thing, Awake;
to a silent stone, Arise!
Can this teach?
Behold, it is overlaid with gold and silver,
and aythere is no breath at all in it.
20But azthe Lord is in his holy temple;
balet all the earth keep silence before him.”
