Psalms 74:3-23

3Direct your steps to athe perpetual ruins;
the enemy has destroyed everything in the sanctuary!
4 Your foes have broared in the midst of your meeting place;
cthey set up their down signs for esigns.
5They were like those who swing faxes
in a forest of trees.
The meaning of the Hebrew is uncertain

6And all its hcarved wood
they broke down with hatchets and hammers.
7They iset your sanctuary on fire;
they jprofaned kthe dwelling place of your name,
bringing it down to the ground.
8They lsaid to themselves, “We will utterly subdue them”;
they burned all the meeting places of God in the land.
9 We do not see our msigns;
nthere is no longer any prophet,
and there is none among us who knows how long.
10How long, O God, ois the foe to scoff?
Is the enemy to revile your name forever?
11Why pdo you hold back your hand, your right hand?
Take it from the fold of your garment
Hebrew  from your bosom
and destroy them!
12 Yet rGod my King is from of old,
working salvation in the midst of the earth.
13You sdivided the sea by your might;
you tbroke the heads of uthe sea monsters
Or  the great sea creatures
on the waters.
14You crushed the heads of wLeviathan;
you gave him as food for the creatures of the wilderness.
15You xsplit open springs and brooks;
you ydried up ever-flowing streams.
16Yours is the day, yours also the night;
you have established zthe heavenly lights and the sun.
17You have aafixed all the boundaries of the earth;
you have made absummer and winter.
18 acRemember this, O Lord, how the enemy scoffs,
and ada foolish people reviles your name.
19Do not deliver the soul of your aedove to the wild beasts;
afdo not forget the life of your poor forever.
20 Have regard for agthe covenant,
for ahthe dark places of the land are full of the habitations of violence.
21Let not aithe downtrodden ajturn back in shame;
let akthe poor and needy praise your name.
22 Arise, O God, aldefend your cause;
amremember how the foolish scoff at you all the day!
23Do not forget the clamor of your foes,
anthe uproar of those who rise against you, which goes up continually!

Psalms 79:10-12

10 aoWhy should the nations say,
Where is their God?”
Let apthe avenging of the outpoured blood of your servants
be known among the nations before our eyes!
11 Let aqthe groans of the prisoners come before you;
according to your great power, preserve those ardoomed to die!
12Return assevenfold into the atlap of our neighbors
the autaunts with which they have taunted you, O Lord!

Isaiah 54:15-17

15 avIf anyone stirs up strife,
it is not from me;
whoever stirs up strife with you
shall fall because of you.
16Behold, I have created the smith
who blows the fire of coals
and produces a weapon for its purpose.
I have also created the ravager to destroy;
17no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed,
and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord
awand their vindication
Or righteousness
from me, declares the Lord.”

Isaiah 64:1-2

1 ayOh that you would rend the heavens and come down,
azthat the mountains might quake at your presence
2
Ch 64:1 in Hebrew
as when fire kindles brushwood
and the fire causes water to boil
bbto make your name known to your adversaries,
and that the nations might tremble at your presence!

Jeremiah 50:11-15

11 bcThough you rejoice, though you exult,
O plunderers of my heritage,
though you frolic like a heifer in the pasture,
and neigh like stallions,
12your mother shall be utterly shamed,
and she who bore you shall be disgraced.
Behold, she shall be the last of the nations,
bda wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.
13 beBecause of the wrath of the Lord she shall not be inhabited
but shall be an utter desolation;
bfeveryone who passes by Babylon shall be appalled,
bgand hiss because of all her wounds.
14 bhSet yourselves in array against Babylon all around,
biall you who bend the bow;
shoot at her, spare no arrows,
bjfor she has sinned against the Lord.
15 bkRaise a shout against her all around;
she has surrendered;
her bulwarks have fallen;
blher walls are thrown down.
For bmthis is the vengeance of the Lord:
take vengeance on her;
bndo to her as she has done.
