40 How often they ^arebelled against him in the wilderness
and ^bgrieved him in ^cthe desert!

10 ^dFor forty years I loathed that generation
and said, “They are a people who go astray in their heart,
and they have not known ^emy ways.”

51 ^f“You stiff-necked people, ^guncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. ^hAs your fathers did, so do you.

30 And ⁱdo not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, ^jby whom you were sealed for the day of ^kredemption.

10 Therefore I was provoked with that generation,
and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart;
they have not known my ways.’

17 And with whom was he provoked for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, ^lwhose bodies fell in the wilderness?
