Psalms 80:15-16

15the stock that your right hand planted,
and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.
16They have aburned it with fire; they have bcut it down;
may they perish at cthe rebuke of your face!

Isaiah 5:2-7

2He dug it and cleared it of stones,
and planted it with dchoice vines;
he built a watchtower in the midst of it,
and hewed out a wine vat in it;
and ehe looked for it to yield grapes,
but it yielded wild grapes.
3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem
and men of Judah,
judge between me and my vineyard.
4 fWhat more was there to do for my vineyard,
that I have not done in it?
gWhen I looked for it to yield grapes,
why did it yield wild grapes?
5 And now I will tell you
what I will do to my vineyard.
I will remove hits hedge,
and it shall be devoured;
Or grazed over; compare Exodus 22:5

jI will break down its wall,
and it shall be trampled down.
6I will make it a waste;
it shall not be pruned or hoed,
and kbriers and thorns shall grow up;
lI will also command the clouds
that they rain no rain upon it.
7 mFor the vineyard of the Lord of hosts
is the house of Israel,
and the men of Judah
are his pleasant planting;
and he looked for justice,
but behold, bloodshed;
The Hebrew words for  justice and  bloodshed sound alike

for righteousness,
but behold, an outcry!
The Hebrew words for  righteous and  outcry sound alike

Isaiah 27:11

11When its boughs are dry, they are broken;
women come and make a fire of them.
pFor this is a people without discernment;
therefore he who made them will not have compassion on them;
he who formed them will show them no favor.

Ezekiel 15:2-7

2 qSon of man, how does rthe wood of the vine surpass any wood, the vine branch that is among the trees of the forest? 3Is wood taken from it to make anything? Do people take sa peg from it to hang any vessel on it? 4 tBehold, it is given to the fire for fuel. When the fire has consumed both ends of it, and the middle of it is charred, is it useful for anything? 5 uBehold, when it was whole, it was used for nothing. How much less, when the fire has consumed it and it is charred, can it ever be used for anything! 6Therefore thus says the Lord God: vLike the wood of the vine among the trees of the forest, wwhich I have given to the fire for fuel, so have I given up the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 7 xAnd I will set my face against them. Though ythey escape from the fire, the fire shall yet consume them, zand you will know that I am the Lord, aawhen I set my face against them.

Matthew 7:19

19 abEvery tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

Matthew 21:19

19 acAnd seeing a fig tree by the wayside, he went to it and found nothing on it but only leaves. And he said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” And the fig tree withered at once.

Luke 13:6-9

The Parable of the Barren Fig Tree

6And he told this parable: A man had ada fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. 7And he said to the vinedresser, ‘Look, for three years now I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. aeCut it down. Why should it use up the ground?’ 8And he answered him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and put on manure. 9Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’”
