Psalms 80:8-16

8 You brought aa vine out of Egypt;
you bdrove out the nations and planted it.
9You ccleared the ground for it;
it took deep root and filled the land.
10The mountains were covered with its shade,
the mighty cedars with its branches.
11It sent out its branches to dthe sea
and its shoots to ethe River.
That is,  the Euphrates

12Why then have you gbroken down its walls,
so that all who pass along the way pluck its fruit?
13 hThe boar from the forest ravages it,
and all that move in the field feed on it.
14 Turn again, O God of hosts!
iLook down from heaven, and see;
have regard for this vine,
15the stock that your right hand planted,
and for the son whom you made strong for yourself.
16They have jburned it with fire; they have kcut it down;
may they perish at lthe rebuke of your face!

Song of Solomon 8:11-12

11 Solomon had ma vineyard at Baal-hamon;
he nlet out the vineyard to okeepers;
each one was to bring for its fruit pa thousand pieces of silver.
12My vineyard, my very own, is before me;
you, O Solomon, may have the thousand,
and qthe keepers of the fruit two hundred.

Isaiah 5:1-4

The Vineyard of the Lord Destroyed

1 Let me sing for my beloved
my love song concerning his vineyard:
My beloved had ra vineyard
on a very fertile hill.
2He dug it and cleared it of stones,
and planted it with schoice vines;
he built a watchtower in the midst of it,
and hewed out a wine vat in it;
and the looked for it to yield grapes,
but it yielded wild grapes.
3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem
and men of Judah,
judge between me and my vineyard.
4 uWhat more was there to do for my vineyard,
that I have not done in it?
vWhen I looked for it to yield grapes,
why did it yield wild grapes?

Jeremiah 2:21

21 wYet I planted you a choice vine,
wholly of pure seed.
xHow then have you turned degenerate
and become a wild vine?

Mark 12:1

The Parable of the Tenants

1 yAnd he began to speak to them in parables. “A man planted za vineyard aaand put a fence around it and dug a pit for the winepress and built a tower, and ableased it to tenants and acwent into another country.

Luke 20:9-18

The Parable of the Wicked Tenants

9 adAnd he began to tell the people this parable: A man planted aea vineyard and aflet it out to tenants and agwent into another country for a long while. 10When the time came, he sent a servant

to the tenants, so that aithey would give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. ajBut the tenants beat him and sent him away empty-handed.
11 akAnd alhe sent another servant. But they also beat and amtreated him shamefully, and sent him away empty-handed. 12 anAnd he sent yet a third. This one also they wounded and cast out. 13Then the owner of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my aobeloved son; perhaps they will respect him.’ 14But when the tenants saw him, they said to themselves, apThis is the heir. aqLet us kill him, so that the inheritance may be ours.’ 15And they arthrew him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them? 16 asHe will atcome and destroy those tenants and augive the vineyard to others.” When they heard this, they said, “Surely not!” 17But he avlooked directly at them and said, What then is this that is written:

aw“‘The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone’?
Greek  the head of the corner

18 ayEveryone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, and when it falls azon anyone, it will crush him.”
