Psalms 83:18

18that they may fknow that you alone,
gwhose name is the Lord,
are hthe Most High over all the earth.

Psalms 140:11-12

11Let not the slanderer be established in the land;
let evil hunt down the violent man speedily!
12 I know that the Lord will imaintain the cause of the afflicted,
and jwill execute justice for the needy.

Isaiah 3:15

15What do you mean by kcrushing my people,
by grinding the face of the poor?”

declares the Lord God of hosts.

Isaiah 5:7

7 lFor the vineyard of the Lord of hosts
is the house of Israel,
and the men of Judah
are his pleasant planting;
and he looked for justice,
but behold, bloodshed;
The Hebrew words for  justice and  bloodshed sound alike

for righteousness,
but behold, an outcry!
The Hebrew words for  righteous and  outcry sound alike

Isaiah 59:13-16

13transgressing, and denying the Lord,
and turning back from following our God,
ospeaking oppression and revolt,
conceiving and uttering from the heart lying words.

Judgment and Redemption

14 pJustice is turned back,
and righteousness stands far away;
for truth has stumbled in the public squares,
and uprightness cannot enter.
15Truth is lacking,
and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey.
The Lord saw it, and it displeased him
Hebrew  and it was evil in his eyes

that there was no justice.
16 rHe saw that there was no man,
and wondered that there was no one to intercede;
then his own arm brought him salvation,
and his righteousness upheld him.

Jeremiah 22:17-19

17But you have eyes and heart
only for your dishonest gain,
sfor shedding innocent blood,
and for practicing oppression and violence.”
18Therefore thus says the Lord concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah:

t“They shall not lament for him, saying,
uAh, my brother!’ or ‘Ah, sister!’
They shall not lament for him, saying,
vAh, lord!’ or ‘Ah, his majesty!’
19With the burial of a donkey whe shall be buried,
dragged and dumped beyond the gates of Jerusalem.”
