1 Lord, you were bfavorable to your land;

Jeremiah 31:18-20

18I have heard gEphraim grieving,
‘You have disciplined me, and I was disciplined,
like an untrained calf;
hbring me back that I may be restored,
for you are the Lord my God.
19For after iI had turned away, I relented,
and after I was instructed, jI struck my thigh;
kI was ashamed, and I was confounded,
because I bore the disgrace of my youth.’
20 lIs Ephraim my dear son?
mIs he my darling child?
For as often as I speak against him,
I do remember him still.
nTherefore my heart
Hebrew bowels
yearns for him;
I will surely have mercy on him,

declares the Lord.

Ezekiel 39:24-29

24I dealt with them paccording to their uncleanness and their transgressions, and hid my face from them.

The Lord Will Restore Israel

25Therefore thus says the Lord God: Now qI will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on rthe whole house of Israel, and sI will be jealous for my holy name. 26They shall tforget their shame and all the treachery they have practiced against me, when uthey dwell securely in their land with vnone to make them afraid, 27 wwhen I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them from their enemieslands, xand through them have vindicated my holiness in the sight of many nations. 28 yThen they shall know that I am the Lord their God, because I sent them into exile among the nations and then assembled them into their own land. I will leave none of them remaining among the nations anymore. 29 zAnd I will not hide my face anymore from them, when aaI pour out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, declares the Lord God.”
