1 Lord, you were ^bfavorable to your land;
you ^crestored the fortunes of Jacob.
2 You ^dforgave the iniquity of your people;
you ^ecovered all their sin. Selah
3 You withdrew all your wrath;
you ^fturned from your hot anger.

Jeremiah 31:18-20

18 I have heard ^gEphraim grieving,
‘You have disciplined me, and I was disciplined,
like an untrained calf;
^hbring me back that I may be restored,
for you are the Lord my God.
19 For after ⁱI had turned away, I relented,
and after I was instructed, ^jI struck my thigh;
^kI was ashamed, and I was confounded,
because I bore the disgrace of my youth.’
20 ^lIs Ephraim my dear son?
^mIs he my darling child?
For as often as I speak against him,
I do remember him still.

I will surely have mercy on him,

Ezekiel 39:24-29

24 I dealt with them ^paccording to their uncleanness and their transgressions, and hid my face from them.

The Lord Will Restore Israel

25 “Therefore thus says the Lord God: Now ^qI will restore the fortunes of Jacob and have mercy on ^rthe whole house of Israel, and ^sI will be jealous for my holy name. 26 They shall ^tforget their shame and all the treachery they have practiced against me, when ^uthey dwell securely in their land with ^vnone to make them afraid, 27 ^wwhen I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them from their enemies’ lands, ^xand through them have vindicated my holiness in the sight of many nations. 28 ^yThen they shall know that I am the Lord their God, because I sent them into exile among the nations and then assembled them into their own land. I will leave none of them remaining among the nations anymore. 29 ^zAnd I will not hide my face anymore from them, when ^aaI pour out my Spirit upon the house of Israel, declares the Lord God.”

Israel and Judah Are Unrepentant
