Isaiah 40:1-2

Comfort for God’s People

1 ⁱComfort, comfort my people, says your God.
2 ^jSpeak tenderly to Jerusalem,
and cry to her
that ^kher warfare ^{▼▼Or hardship} is ended,
that her iniquity is pardoned,
that she has received from the Lord’s hand
double for all her sins.

Isaiah 49:13

13 ^mSing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth;
break forth, O mountains, into singing!

and will have compassion on his afflicted.

Isaiah 51:12

12 “I, I am he ^owho comforts you;
who are you that you are afraid of ^pman who dies,

Isaiah 54:6-8

6 ^rFor the Lord has called you
like a wife deserted and grieved in spirit,
like a wife of youth when she is cast off,

The Year of the Lord’s Favor

the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
^aethat they may be called oaks of righteousness,

Isaiah 66:10-14

10 ^ah“Rejoice with Jerusalem, and be glad for her,
all you who love her;
rejoice with her in joy,
all you who mourn over her;
