to bring good news to the poor;
Or afflicted

he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and ythe opening of the prison to those who are bound;
Or  the opening [of the eyes] to those who are blind; Septuagint  and recovery of sight to the blind

2 aato proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor,
aband the day of vengeance of our God;
to comfort all who mourn;
3to grant to those who mourn in Zion
acto give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
adthe oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
aethat they may be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, afthat he may be glorified.
Or  that he may display his beauty

from her consoling breast;
that you may drink deeply with delight
from her glorious abundance.”
Or breast

12 For thus says the Lord:
ajBehold, I will extend peace to her like a river,
and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream;
and akyou shall nurse, you shall be carried upon her hip,
and bounced upon her knees.
13As one whom his mother comforts,
so alI will comfort you;
you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
14You shall see, and your heart shall rejoice;
amyour bones shall flourish like the grass;
and anthe hand of the Lord shall be known to his servants,
