Psalms 94:12

12 aBlessed is the man whom you bdiscipline, O Lord,
and whom you teach out of your law,

Proverbs 3:11-12

11 cMy son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline
or be weary of his reproof,
12for the Lord reproves him whom he loves,
as da father the son in whom he delights.

Jeremiah 31:18

18I have heard eEphraim grieving,
‘You have disciplined me, and I was disciplined,
like an untrained calf;
fbring me back that I may be restored,
for you are the Lord my God.

Hebrews 12:5-11

5And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons?

gMy son, hdo not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord,
nor be weary when reproved by him.
6For ithe Lord disciplines the one he loves,
and chastises every son whom he receives.”
7It is for discipline that you have to endure. jGod is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? 8If you are left without discipline, kin which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons. 9Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to lthe Father of spirits mand live? 10For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, nthat we may share his holiness. 11 oFor the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields pthe peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

James 1:12

12 qBlessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive rthe crown of life, swhich God has promised to those who love him.

James 5:11

11Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of tthe steadfastness of Job, and you have seen uthe purpose of the Lord, how vthe Lord is compassionate and merciful.
