The Great Prostitute and the Beast

1 Then ^aone of the seven angels who had ^bthe seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the judgment of ^cthe great prostitute ^dwho is seated on many waters, 2 ^ewith whom the kings of the earth have committed sexual immorality, and ^fwith the wine of whose sexual immorality ^gthe dwellers on earth have become drunk.”

Revelation of John 17:15-16

15 And the angel ^{▼▼Greek he} said to me, ⁱ“The waters that you saw, where the prostitute is seated, are peoples and multitudes and nations and languages. 16 And ^jthe ten horns that you saw, they and the beast ^kwill hate the prostitute. They will make her ^ldesolate and ^mnaked, and ⁿdevour her flesh and ^oburn her up with fire,

Revelation of John 18:3

3 For all nations have drunk ^{▼▼Some manuscripts fallen by}
^qthe wine of the passion of her sexual immorality,
and ^rthe kings of the earth have committed immorality with her,
and ^sthe merchants of the earth have grown rich from the power of her luxurious living.”

Revelation of John 18:9-10

9 And ^tthe kings of the earth, who committed sexual immorality and lived in luxury with her, ^uwill weep and wail over her ^vwhen they see the smoke of her burning. 10 ^wThey will stand far off, in fear of her torment, and say,

“Alas! Alas! ^xYou great city,
you mighty city, Babylon!
For ^yin a single hour your judgment has come.”

23 and the light of a lamp
will shine in you no more,
