Revelation of John 9:5-6

5They were allowed to torment them afor five months, but not to kill them, and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings someone. 6And in those days bpeople will seek death and will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them.

10The fifth angel poured out his bowl on cthe throne of the beast, and dits kingdom was plunged into darkness. People gnawed their tongues in anguish 11and cursed ethe God of heaven for their pain and fsores. gThey did not repent of their deeds.

6 rPay her back as she herself has paid back others,
and repay her sdouble for her deeds;
mix a double portion for her tin the cup she mixed.
7 uAs she glorified herself and lived in luxury,
so give her a like measure of torment and mourning,
since in her heart she says,
v‘I sit as a queen,
I am no widow,
and mourning I shall never see.’
8For this reason her plagues will come win a single day,
death and mourning and famine,
and xshe will be burned up with fire;
for ymighty is the Lord God who has judged her.”
