Romans 1:21-32

21 For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they ^abecame futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 ^bClaiming to be wise, they became fools, 23 and ^cexchanged the glory of ^dthe immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things.

24 Therefore ^eGod gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to ^fthe dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for ^ga lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, ^hwho is blessed forever! Amen.

26 For this reason ⁱGod gave them up to ^jdishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; 27 and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, ^kmen committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 And since they did not see fit to acknowledge God, ^lGod gave them up to ^ma debased mind to do ⁿwhat ought not to be done. 29 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, 31 foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32 Though they know ^oGod’s righteous decree that those who practice such things ^pdeserve to die, they not only do them but ^qgive approval to those who practice them.

Ephesians 4:17-20

The New Life

17 Now this I say and ^rtestify in the Lord, ^sthat you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, ^tin the futility of their minds. 18 They ^uare darkened in their understanding, ^valienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to ^wtheir hardness of heart. 19 They ^xhave become callous and ^yhave given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity. 20 But that is not the way you ^zlearned Christ!—

1 Peter 2:9

9 But you are ^aaa chosen race, ^aba royal ^acpriesthood, ^ada holy nation, ^aea people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you ^afout of darkness into ^aghis marvelous light.
