Romans 12:4-8

4For aas in one body we have many members,
Greek parts; also verse 5
and the members do not all have the same function,
5so we, cthough many, dare one body in Christ, and individually emembers one of another. 6 fHaving gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if gprophecy, hin proportion to our faith; 7if iservice, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; 8the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; jthe one who leads,
Or gives aid
with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with lcheerfulness.

Romans 13:6

6For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing.

1 Corinthians 3:5-10

5What then is Apollos? What is Paul? mServants through whom you believed, nas the Lord assigned to each. 6 oI planted, pApollos watered, qbut God gave the growth. 7So rneither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth. 8He who plants and he who waters are one, and each swill receive his wages according to his labor. 9For we are tGod’s fellow workers. You are God’s field, uGod’s building.

10 vAccording to the grace of God given to me, like a skilled master builder I laid a wfoundation, and xsomeone else is building upon it. Let each one take care how he builds upon it.

1 Corinthians 12:4-31

4Now ythere are varieties of gifts, but zthe same Spirit; 5and aathere are varieties of service, but abthe same Lord; 6and there are varieties of activities, but it is acthe same God who empowers them all in everyone. 7 adTo each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. 8For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of aewisdom, and to another the utterance of afknowledge according to the same Spirit, 9to another agfaith by the same Spirit, to another ahgifts of healing by the one Spirit, 10to another aithe working of miracles, to another ajprophecy, to another akthe ability to distinguish between spirits, to another alvarious kinds of tongues, to another amthe interpretation of tongues. 11All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, anwho apportions to each one individually aoas he wills.

One Body with Many Members

12For just as apthe body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, aqso it is with Christ. 13For arin one Spirit we were all baptized into one bodyasJews or Greeks, slaves
Or servants; Greek bondservants
or freeand auall were made to drink of one Spirit.

14For the body does not consist of one member but of many. 15If the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 16And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. 17If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? 18But as it is, avGod arranged the members in the body, each one of them, awas he chose. 19If all were a single member, where would the body be? 20As it is, there are many parts,
Or members; also verse 22
yet one body.

21The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22On the contrary, the parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23and on those parts of the body that we think less honorable we bestow the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, 24which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it, 25that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. 26If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, ayall rejoice together.

27Now azyou are the body of Christ and individually bamembers of it. 28And bbGod has appointed in the church first bcapostles, second bdprophets, third teachers, then bemiracles, then bfgifts of healing, bghelping, bhadministrating, and bivarious kinds of tongues. 29Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30Do all possess gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 31But bjearnestly desire the higher gifts.

And I will show you a still more excellent way.

1 Corinthians 15:58

58 bkTherefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in blthe work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord bmyour labor is not in vain.

Colossians 3:24

24knowing that from the Lord bnyou will receive the inheritance as your reward. boYou are serving the Lord Christ.

Colossians 4:1

1Masters, treat your bondservants justly and fairly, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.
