Romans 14:15

15 For if your brother is grieved by what you eat, ^ayou are no longer walking in love. ^bBy what you eat, do not destroy the one for whom Christ died.

1 Corinthians 8:11-12

11 And so by your knowledge this weak person is ^cdestroyed, the brother for whom Christ died. 12 Thus, sinning against your brothers ^{▼▼Or brothers and sisters} and ^ewounding their conscience when it is weak, ^fyou sin against Christ.

Galatians 2:4-5

4 ^gYet because of false brothers secretly brought in—who ^hslipped in to spy out ⁱour freedom that we have in Christ Jesus, ^jso that they might bring us into slavery— 5 to them we did not yield in submission even for a moment, so that ^kthe truth of the gospel might be preserved for you.

Galatians 2:12-16

12 For before certain men came from James, ^lhe was eating with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing ^mthe circumcision party. ^{▼▼Or fearing those of the circumcision} 13 And the rest of the Jews acted hypocritically along with him, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy. 14 But when I saw that their ^oconduct was not in step with ^pthe truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas ^qbefore them all, “If you, though a Jew, ^rlive like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?”

Justified by Faith

15 We ourselves are Jews by birth and not ^sGentile sinners; 16 yet we know that ^ta person is not justified ^{▼▼Or counted righteous (three times in verse 16); also verse 17} by works of the law ^vbut through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, ^wbecause by works of the law no one will be justified.

Galatians 2:21

21 I do not nullify the grace of God, for ^xif righteousness ^{▼▼Or justification} were through the law, ^zthen Christ died for no purpose.

Galatians 4:9-12

9 But now that you have come to know God, or rather ^aato be known by God, ^abhow can you turn back again to ^acthe weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more? 10 ^adYou observe days and months and seasons and years! 11 I am afraid ^aeI may have labored over you in vain.

12 Brothers, ^{▼▼Or Brothers and sisters; also verses 28, 31} ^agI entreat you, become as I am, for I also have become as you are. ^ahYou did me no wrong.

Galatians 5:11

11 But if I, brothers, ^{▼▼Or brothers and sisters; also verse 13} still preach ^{▼▼Greek proclaim} circumcision, ^akwhy am I still being persecuted? In that case ^althe offense of the cross has been removed.
