Romans 14:15-23

15For if your brother is grieved by what you eat, ayou are no longer walking in love. bBy what you eat, do not destroy the one for whom Christ died. 16 cSo do not let what you regard as good be spoken of as evil. 17 dFor the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but eof righteousness and fpeace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18Whoever thus serves Christ is gacceptable to God and approved by men. 19So then let us hpursue what makes for peace and for imutual upbuilding.

20 jDo not, for the sake of food, destroy the work of God. kEverything is indeed clean, but lit is wrong for anyone to make another stumble by what he eats. 21 mIt is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble.

22The faith that you have, keep between yourself and God. oBlessed is the one who has no reason to pass judgment on himself for what he approves. 23But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.

1 Corinthians 8:4

4Therefore, as to the eating of food offered to idols, we know that q“an idol has no real existence,” and that r“there is no God but one.”

1 Corinthians 8:7-13

7However, not all possess this knowledge. But some, sthrough former association with idols, eat food as really offered to an idol, and ttheir conscience, being weak, is defiled. 8 uFood will not commend us to God. We are no worse off if we do not eat, and no better off if we do. 9But take care vthat this right of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block wto the weak. 10For if anyone sees you who have knowledge eating
Greek reclining at table
in an idol’s temple, will he not be encouraged,
Or fortified; Greek built up
if his conscience is weak, to eat food offered to idols?
11And so by your knowledge this weak person is zdestroyed, the brother for whom Christ died. 12Thus, sinning against your brothers
Or  brothers and sisters
and abwounding their conscience when it is weak, acyou sin against Christ.
13Therefore, adif food makes my brother stumble, I will never eat meat, lest I make my brother stumble.

1 Corinthians 9:12

12If others share this rightful claim on you, do not we even more?

Nevertheless, aewe have not made use of this right, but we endure anything afrather than put an obstacle in the way of the gospel of Christ.

1 Corinthians 10:24-33

24 agLet no one seek his own good, but the good of his neighbor. 25 ahEat whatever is sold in the meat market without raising any question on the ground of conscience. 26For ai“the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof.” 27If one of the unbelievers invites you to dinner and you are disposed to go, ajeat whatever is set before you without raising any question on the ground of conscience. 28But if someone says to you, “This has been offered in sacrifice,” then do not eat it, for the sake of the one who informed you, and for the sake of conscience 29I do not mean akyour conscience, but his. For alwhy should my liberty be determined by someone else’s conscience? 30If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced because of that amfor which I give thanks?

31So, whether you eat or drink, or anwhatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 32 aoGive no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to apthe church of God, 33just as aqI try to please everyone in everything I do, arnot seeking my own advantage, but that of many, that they may be saved.

2 Thessalonians 3:9

9It was asnot because we do not have that right, but to give you in ourselves atan example to imitate.
