2On ethe first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, fas he may prosper, gso that there will be no collecting when I come. 3And when I arrive, I will send hthose whom you accredit by letter to carry your gift to Jerusalem. 4If it seems advisable that I should go also, they will accompany me.

2 Corinthians 8:1-4

Encouragement to Give Generously

1We want you to know, brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters
about the grace of God that has been jgiven among the churches of Macedonia,
2for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and ktheir extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. 3For they gave laccording to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord, 4begging us earnestly mfor the favor
The Greek word charis can mean  favor or grace or thanks, depending on the context
of taking part in othe relief of the saints
