Final Instructions and Greetings

17I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles acontrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; bavoid them. 18For such persons do not serve our Lord Christ, but ctheir own appetites,

and eby smooth talk and flattery they deceive the hearts of the naive.

1 Corinthians 5:3-5

3For though fabsent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing. 4When you are assembled gin the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, 5you are hto deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so ithat his spirit may be saved jin the day of the Lord.

9I wrote to you in my letter lnot to associate with sexually immoral people— 10 mnot at all meaning nthe sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, osince then you would need to go out of the world. 11But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone pwho bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. 12For what have I to do with judging qoutsiders? rIs it not those inside the church

whom you are to judge?
13God judges
Or will judge
those outside. uPurge the evil person from among you.”

2 Thessalonians 3:6

Warning Against Idleness

6Now we command you, brothers, vin the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, wthat you keep away from any xbrother ywho is walking in idleness and not in accord with the tradition that you received from us.

2 Thessalonians 3:14-15

14If anyone does not obey what we say in this letter, take note of that person, and zhave nothing to do with him, that he may be ashamed. 15 aaDo not regard him as an enemy, but abwarn him as a brother.

1 Timothy 6:5

5and constant friction among people acwho are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, adimagining that godliness is a means of gain.

2 John 10-11

10If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, aedo not receive him into your house or give him any greeting, 11for whoever greets him aftakes part in his wicked works.
