Romans 2:4-9

4 Or do you presume on ^athe riches of his kindness and ^bforbearance and ^cpatience, ^dnot knowing that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? 5 But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are ^estoring up ^fwrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.

6 ^gHe will render to each one according to his works: 7 to those who ^hby patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; 8 but for those who are self-seeking ^{▼▼Or contentious} and ^jdo not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. 9 There will be tribulation and distress ^kfor every human being who does evil, the Jew ^lfirst and also the Greek,

Romans 3:19-26

19 Now we know that whatever ^mthe law says it speaks to those who are under the law, ⁿso that every mouth may be stopped, and ^othe whole world may be held accountable to God. 20 For ^pby works of the law no human being ^{▼▼Greek flesh} will be justified in his sight, since ^rthrough the law comes knowledge of sin.

The Righteousness of God Through Faith

21 But now ^sthe righteousness of God ^thas been manifested apart from the law, although ^uthe Law and the Prophets bear witness to it— 22 the righteousness of God ^vthrough faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. ^wFor there is no distinction: 23 for ^xall have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 ^yand are justified ^zby his grace as a gift, ^aathrough the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God ^abput forward as ^aca propitiation ^adby his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in ^aehis divine forbearance he had passed over ^afformer sins. 26 It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Romans 9:22-23

22 What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience ^agvessels of wrath ^ahprepared for destruction, 23 in order to make known ^aithe riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he ^ajhas prepared beforehand for glory—
