Romans 4:2

2For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but anot before God.

2 Corinthians 2:14-16

14But bthanks be to God, who in Christ always cleads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads dthe fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere. 15For we are the aroma of Christ to God among ethose who are being saved and among fthose who are perishing, 16 gto one a fragrance from death to death, hto the other a fragrance from life to life. iWho is sufficient for these things?

2 Corinthians 3:4-6

4 jSuch is the confidence that we have through Christ toward God. 5 kNot that we are sufficient in ourselves to claim anything as coming from us, but lour sufficiency is from God, 6who has made us sufficient to be mministers of na new covenant, not of othe letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but pthe Spirit gives life.

2 Corinthians 7:4

4I am acting with qgreat boldness toward you; rI have great pride in you; sI am filled with comfort. In all our affliction, I am overflowing with joy.

2 Corinthians 11:16-30

Paul’s Sufferings as an Apostle

16I repeat, tlet no one think me foolish. But even if you do, accept me as a fool, so that I too may boast a little. 17What I am saying uwith this boastful confidence, vI say not as the Lord would
Greek  not according to the Lord
but as a fool.
18Since xmany boast according to the flesh, I too will boast. 19For you gladly bear with fools, ybeing wise yourselves! 20For you bear it if someone zmakes slaves of you, or aadevours you, or takes advantage of you, or puts on airs, or abstrikes you in the face. 21To my shame, I must say, acwe were too weak for that!

But whatever anyone else dares to boast of—I am speaking as a fool—I also dare to boast of that.
22Are they Hebrews? adSo am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they offspring of Abraham? So am I. 23Are they aeservants of Christ? afI am a better one—I am talking like a madmanwith far greater labors, agfar more imprisonments, ahwith countless beatings, and aioften near death. 24Five times I received at the hands of the Jews the ajforty lashes less one. 25Three times I was akbeaten with rods. alOnce I was stoned. Three times I amwas shipwrecked; a night and a day I was adrift at sea; 26on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, andanger from my own people, aodanger from Gentiles, apdanger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brothers; 27 aqin toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, arin hunger and thirst, often without food,
Or  often in fasting
in cold and exposure.
28And, apart from other things, there is the daily pressure on me of my anxiety for atall the churches. 29 auWho is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to fall, and I am not indignant?

30 avIf I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness.

2 Corinthians 12:1

Paul’s Visions and His Thorn

1I must go on boasting. Though there is nothing to be gained by it, I will go on to visions and awrevelations of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 12:11-21

Concern for the Corinthian Church

11 axI have been a fool! You forced me to it, for I ought to have been commended by you. For I was aynot at all inferior to these super-apostles, azeven though I am nothing. 12 baThe signs of a true apostle were performed among you bbwith utmost patience, with signs and wonders and mighty works. 13For in what were you less favored than the rest of the churches, except that bcI myself did not burden you? Forgive me this wrong!

14Here bdfor the third time I am ready to come to you. And I will not be a burden, for beI seek not what is yours but you. For bfchildren are not obligated to save up for their parents, but bgparents for their children. 15 bhI will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If biI love you more, am I to be loved less? 16But granting that bjI myself did not burden you, I was crafty, you say, and got the better of you by deceit. 17Did I take advantage of you bkthrough any of those whom I sent to you? 18 blI urged Titus to go, and sent bmthe brother with him. Did Titus take advantage of you? Did we not act in the same spirit? Did we not take the same steps?

19Have you been thinking all along that we have been defending ourselves to you? It is bnin the sight of God that we have been speaking in Christ, and boall for your upbuilding, beloved. 20For I fear that perhaps bpwhen I come I may find you not as I wish, and that you may find me not as you wishthat perhaps there may be quarreling, jealousy, anger, hostility, slander, gossip, conceit, and disorder. 21I fear that when I come again my God may humble me before you, and I may have to mourn over many of those bqwho sinned earlier and have not repented of the impurity, brsexual immorality, and sensuality that they have practiced.
