Romans 5:2-5

2 Through him we have also ^aobtained access by faith ^{▼▼Some manuscripts omit by faith} into this grace ^cin which we stand, and ^dwe ^{▼▼Or let us; also verse 3} rejoice ^{▼▼Or boast; also verses 3, 11} in hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only that, but we ^grejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering ^hproduces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and ⁱhope does not put us to shame, because God’s love ^jhas been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

2 Corinthians 1:4-5

4 ^kwho comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as we share abundantly in ^lChrist’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. ^{▼▼Or For as the sufferings of Christ abound for us, so also our comfort abounds through Christ}

1 Peter 1:7-8
