Romans 7:15-24

15For I do not understand my own actions. For aI do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate. 16Now if I do what I do not want, I agree with bthe law, that it is good. 17So now cit is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me. 18For I know that nothing good dwells din me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out. 19 eFor I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing. 20Now if I do what I do not want, fit is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells within me.

21So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. 22For gI delight in the law of God, hin my inner being, 23but I see in my members ianother law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. 24Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from jthis body of death?

Galatians 5:17-24

17For kthe desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, lto keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18But if you are mled by the Spirit, nyou are not under the law. 19Now othe works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, pdivisions, 21envy,
Some manuscripts add murder
drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that rthose who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22But sthe fruit of the Spirit is tlove, joy, peace, patience, ukindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 vgentleness, wself-control; xagainst such things there is no law. 24And those who belong to Christ Jesus yhave crucified the flesh with its zpassions and desires.
