Romans 7:9-11

9 I was once alive apart from the law, but when the commandment came, sin came alive and I died. 10 The very commandment ^athat promised life proved to be death to me. 11 For sin, ^bseizing an opportunity through the commandment, ^cdeceived me and through it killed me.

2 Corinthians 3:6

6 who has made us sufficient to be ^dministers of ^ea new covenant, not of ^fthe letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but ^gthe Spirit gives life.
