Heirs with Christ

12 So then, brothers, ^{▼▼Or brothers and sisters; also verse 29} we are debtors, ^bnot to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. 13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you ^cput to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Galatians 5:16-17

Keep in Step with the Spirit

16 But I say, ^dwalk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify ^ethe desires of the flesh. 17 For ^fthe desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, ^gto keep you from doing the things you want to do.

1 John 2:15-17

Do Not Love the World

15 ^yDo not love the world or the things in the world. ^zIf anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world— ^aathe desires of the flesh and ^abthe desires of the eyes and pride of life ^{▼▼Or pride in possessions}—is not from the Father but is from the world. 17 And ^adthe world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever.
