2 Corinthians 4:17

17For cthis light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

9But he said to me, dMy grace is sufficient for you, for emy power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that fthe power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 gFor the sake of Christ, then, hI am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For iwhen I am weak, then I am strong.

Philippians 1:12-20

The Advance of the Gospel

12I want you to know, brothers,
Or  brothers and sisters. The plural Greek word adelphoi (translated “brothers”) refers to siblings in a family. In New Testament usage, depending on the context, adelphoi may refer either to men or to both men and women who are siblings (brothers and sisters) in God’s family, the church; also verse 14
that what has happened to me has really kserved to advance the gospel,
13so that it has become known throughout the whole imperial guard
Greek in the whole praetorium
and mto all the rest that nmy imprisonment is for Christ.
14And most of the brothers, having become confident in the Lord by my imprisonment, are much more bold oto speak the word
Some manuscripts add of God
without fear.

15 qSome indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry, but others from good will. 16The latter do it out of love, rknowing that I am put here for sthe defense of the gospel. 17The former proclaim Christ tout of selfish ambition, not sincerely but thinking to afflict me in my imprisonment. 18What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is proclaimed, and in that I rejoice.

To Live Is Christ

Yes, and I will rejoice,
19for I know that uthrough your prayers and vthe help of wthe Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance, 20as it is my eager expectation and hope xthat I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full ycourage now as always Christ zwill be honored in my body, aawhether by life or by death.

Hebrews 2:14-15

14Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise abpartook of the same things, that acthrough death he might addestroy aethe one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15and deliver all those who afthrough fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.

Hebrews 12:10-11

10For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, agthat we may share his holiness. 11 ahFor the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields aithe peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
