Romans 9:30-32

Israel’s Unbelief

30 What shall we say, then? ^aThat Gentiles who did not pursue righteousness have attained it, that is, ^ba righteousness that is by faith; 31 but that Israel ^cwho pursued a law that would lead to righteousness ^{▼▼Greek a law of righteousness} ^edid not succeed in reaching that law. 32 Why? Because they did not pursue it by faith, but as if it were based on works. They have stumbled over the ^fstumbling stone,

Romans 10:2-4

2 For I bear them witness that ^gthey have a zeal for God, ^hbut not according to knowledge. 3 For, being ignorant of ⁱthe righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness. 4 For ^jChrist is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. ^{▼▼Or end of the law, that everyone who believes may be justified}

Galatians 3:21

21 Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For ^lif a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law.

Philippians 3:6
