Ruth 1:19-21

Naomi and Ruth Return

19So the two of them went on until they came to Bethlehem. And when they came to Bethlehem, athe whole town was stirred because of them. And the women said, “Is this Naomi?” 20She said to them, “Do not call me Naomi;
 Naomi means pleasant
call me cMara,
 Mara means bitter
for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me.
21 eI went away full, and the Lord has brought me back empty. Why call me Naomi, when the Lord has testified against me and the Almighty has brought calamity upon me?”

Job 19:14

14My relatives fhave failed me,
my close gfriends have forgotten me.

Lamentations 4:7-8

7 Her princes were purer than snow,
whiter than milk;
their bodies were more ruddy than coral,
the beauty of their form
The meaning of the Hebrew is uncertain
was like sapphire.

they are not recognized in the streets;
their skin has shriveled on their bones;
it has become as dry as wood.
