Ruth 4:7-8

7 aNow this was the custom in former times in Israel concerning redeeming and exchanging: to confirm a transaction, the one drew off his sandal and gave it to the other, and this was the manner of attesting in Israel. 8So when the redeemer said to Boaz, “Buy it for yourself,” he drew off his sandal.

Isaiah 20:2

2at that time the Lord spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, “Go, and loose the sackcloth from your waist and take off your sandals from your feet,” and he did so, walking bnaked and barefoot.

Mark 1:7

7And he preached, saying, cAfter me comes he who is mightier than I, the strap of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and untie.
