Song of Solomon 2

1I am a rose
Probably a bulb, such as a crocus, asphodel, or narcissus
of Sharon,
ba lily of the valleys.

He

2 As a lily among brambles,
so is cmy love among the young women.

She

3 As an apple tree among the trees of the forest,
so is my dbeloved among the young men.
With great delight I sat ein his shadow,
and his ffruit was sweet to my taste.
4He gbrought me to the banqueting house,
Hebrew  the house of wine

and his ibanner over me was love.
5Sustain me with jraisins;
refresh me with apples,
kfor I am sick with love.
6His lleft hand is under my head,
and his right hand membraces me!
7I nadjure you,
That is,  I put you on oath; so throughout the Song
O pdaughters of Jerusalem,
by qthe gazelles or the does of the field,
that you not stir up or awaken love
until it pleases.

The Bride Adores Her Beloved

8 The voice of my beloved!
Behold, he comes,
leaping rover the mountains,
bounding over the hills.
9My beloved is like sa gazelle
or a young stag.
Behold, there he stands
behind our wall,
gazing through the windows,
looking through the lattice.
10My beloved speaks and says to me:
tArise, my love, my beautiful one,
and come away,
11for behold, the winter is past;
uthe rain is over and gone.
12 vThe flowers appear on the earth,
the time of singing
Or pruning
has come,
and the voice of xthe turtledove
is heard in our land.
13 yThe fig tree ripens its figs,
and zthe vines are in blossom;
they give forth fragrance.
aaArise, my love, my beautiful one,
and come away.
14O my abdove, in the acclefts of the rock,
in the crannies of the cliff,
let me see your face,
let me adhear your voice,
for your voice is sweet,
and your face is aelovely.
15Catch afthe foxes
Or jackals
for us,
the little foxes
that spoil the vineyards,
ahfor our vineyards are in blossom.”
16 aiMy beloved is mine, and I am his;
he ajgrazes
Or  he pastures his flock
among the lilies.
17Until althe day breathes
and amthe shadows flee,
turn, my beloved, be like ana gazelle
or a young stag on cleft mountains.
Or mountains of Bether
