A Plea to Return to the Lord

1 oReturn, O Israel, to the Lord your God,
for pyou have stumbled because of your iniquity.
2Take with you words
and return to the Lord;
say to him,
Take away all iniquity;
accept qwhat is good,
and we will pay with bulls
rthe vows
Septuagint, Syriac  pay the fruit
of our lips.
3 tAssyria shall not save us;
uwe will not ride on horses;
and vwe will say no more, ‘Our God,’
to the work of our hands.
wIn you the orphan finds mercy.”
4 I xwill heal their apostasy;
yI will love them freely,
for my anger has turned from them.
